About Base: Base is a fast-growing, venture-backed startup reshaping how people discover and connect with extraordinary experiences. Powered by cutting-edge AI, our platform customizes and matches individuals with personalized events, from exclusive, private dinners to thrilling outdoor adventures. As we rapidly scale, we’re on the lookout for a dynamic, detail-oriented City Lead to help drive our next phase of growth and make a lasting impact on how people experience the world.
The Role: We’re searching for an energetic and visionary City Lead to spearhead the planning and execution of a diverse range of curated events - from exclusive breakfasts and dinners to lively happy hours and outdoor adventures. As a City Lead, you will be responsible for acquiring rare and hard-to-reach partners, negotiating deals for Base Social events, and leading a team to excellence in event execution and member satisfaction. Your strategic decisions will help shape the long-term success of Base by creating and maintaining a network of top-tier venues and partners that our Members will love.
Your responsibilities include…
A typical day could look like…
Partner Outreach: Begin your day by visiting potential restaurant and venue partners, scheduling in-person meetings, and building rapport with high-end venues that align with Base’s elevated standards. Expect to spend a few hours in back-to-back discussions, negotiations, and site visits, ensuring you’re continually expanding Base’s partnership network.
Team Check-ins & Event Prep: Mid-morning, you'll meet with your team to review the logistics for upcoming Member events. Whether it’s finalizing guest lists, coordinating with venue staff, or confirming that all event elements are in place, you’ll be deep in the details, making sure your city’s operations run smoothly.
Negotiating Partnership Deals: In the early afternoon, you’ll move on to negotiating and finalizing deals with partners for upcoming events. Whether on-site at a luxury venue or at a partner's office, your job will be to lock in terms that deliver the exclusivity and quality Base members expect, ensuring mutual benefit for all parties involved.
On-Site Event Presence: As evening approaches, you'll shift into event mode. You’ll spend significant time on-site at Base Socials, Explores, or other events, ensuring everything runs flawlessly. You’re not just overseeing the logistics—you’re greeting members, troubleshooting any issues, and making sure the experience reflects Base’s high standards.
Member Engagement: Between events, you’ll regularly meet with Base members, either at a partner venue or over coffee, listening to their feedback, understanding their preferences, and gathering insights on how to improve the product. This information will be key to refining partnerships and ensuring that your city's offerings meet and exceed Member expectations.
Late-Night Follow-ups: After a long day, you’ll often wrap up with late-night follow-ups, responding to partners and members, reviewing event success, and prepping for the next day. This role is fast-paced and demands flexibility, with long hours often stretching into evenings or weekends to meet the demands of a high-end, service-driven business.
On a weekly basis, this could include…
Multiple Events Per Week: You’ll attend or oversee at least 2-3 major events weekly, being physically present to ensure flawless execution and high member satisfaction.
